Miami,
Florida, September 24, 2001 -Advanced
Electronic Support Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: AESP and AESPW), announced the introduction of
their new SignamaxTM Connectivity Systems 16-Port desktop switch.
Slav
Stein, the Companys President, stated: This
switch utilizes a recently developed design in order to meet new standards by the IEEE,
and we believe that this product will offer power and flexibility previously unknown at
this size and price point. Using this switch and regular copper-wiring category 5E or
higher, any network will be able to process different information transmissions types. For example, voice and video data are more
sensitive to time delays than a typical data transmission and this new device will
coordinate and distribute all information without losing any data or quality of
transmissions. Additionally, with a target price of under $15 per port, this switch will
make it easier for our customers to upgrade their networks to full-duplex switched
bandwidth usable for voice, video, and data transmission.
Not only can this new switch be used for a standalone workgroup or office LAN, but
it can also respond to more complex commands to the networks end users. With a Signamax 16-Port desktop switch, networks
no longer need to use expensive, highly complex switches for such functions; and
therefore, we believe that this new switch provides a cost-effective and flexible answer
to today's computing needs and tomorrow's future demands.
It is also backed by a five-year warranty on all parts, including the power
supply.
This
new generation of switches will make it affordable for any business to upgrade their
existing networks and use them for a variety of purposes, not just a single
function. explained Steve Daily, Vice-President and General Manager of the Signamax
Connectivity Systems division of Advanced Electronic Support Products, Inc. This product allows us to reach a new range
of customers who are looking to build networks for data, voice, and video in small to
mid-sized installations. We believe that we
offer our customers a high-value, complete solution for their networking needs. This
switch also includes advanced support for new networking standards, providing network
administrators with powerful, easy-to-use tools to control their networks and increase
security.
Mr. Daily
continued: The new desktop switch features 16 ports that automatically negotiate the
presence of Standard or Fast Ethernet on its connections. This allows users to deploy Fast
Ethernet when and where it is needed, and still run Standard Ethernet on some desktops.
Each port is a separate Ethernet segment and supports automatic crossover cabling for easy
connection of multiple switches. Connections to other devices are easily made without
using dedicated ports or special cables.
